Mission Statement

G'day!

I'm a Scottish guy living in Sydney and watching in palpable excitement at the unfolding political events back home as May 3rd looms. I am open-minded and have voted for most parties (even SSP, ugh, what was I thinking!) but these days I do have a natural SNP bias.

I have set up a blog here to publish some things I look at when sitting here at work, just some number crunching of past election results, assessments of polls as and when they occur and dissemination of news stories to assess what impact they may have on the final result.

Despite my natural SNP bias, I am also (as an accountant) a very cautious type of person. I hesitate to use the word prudent, haha. Anyway, if anything, my analysis will be less biased towards SNP I hope. If only with a view to being pleasantly surprised come May 3rd.

I have also tried to make this blog one with a slant towards tactical voting and "anyone but Labour" inspired by the blog http://www.anyonebutlabour.org/ and also inspired by the suggestion of a blogger who wrote something about wondering if there was such a blog out there. I read this blogger every day, Clairwil, http://clairwil.blogspot.com/.

Anyway, my blogging experience is zero so hopefully this will take off and not be something that entertains me for 5 minutes and then just as quickly exits my memory.
