Yeah, it's nice when the soon-to-be world's most powerful person makes your points on Scottish independence for you.
Union dividend? I don't buy it when Scotland is so easily and so regularly disregarded by the world's most influential people....
If Britain is going to be England on an international level, then why not make it the same at a domestic level too?

Aye but Jeff what institutions was Barak talking about. If for example he was talking about the Federal Reserve then The Bank of England was formed by a Scot after the Bank of Scotland traditions.
I totally agree. It seems the arguements are being made for us, lets hope their ears are open.
This is a quantum leap from Candidate's Obama's words. Surely the prime US institution is the Declaration of Independence which many serious historians see much of the Declaration of Arbroath in its words and spirit. Not surprising when you recall that most of the signatories were of "Scotch/Irish" descent.
Even so his message this week seems to me that he wants more military support in Afghanistan and he is not concerned whether those additional troops come from a Scottish Government or a UK government although I'll grant you he is looking specifically at Germany and France on this one.
