So let's get this straight.
Margaret Curran, who has a voice that goes right through you and an abrasive personality to match is fast becoming Scotland's version of Hillary Clinton. She plays fast and loose with the truth and will attempt to paint herself in any light to get herself elected.
So far she has:
Blatantly lied about voting for a second UN resolution on the Iraq War.
Briefed against her own leader labelling her "shocking and appalling".
Blatantly lied on her campaign leaflets.
Hypocritically attacks Salmond for being an MP and MSP, but then attempts the same herself.
Blatantly lied about living in Glasgow East her whole life. (She lives in a £350k house in the South Side.)
Votes against scrapping council tax.
Votes against scrapping tuition fees for students
Abstained on council tax freeze vote, scrapping prescription charges, having 1,000 extra police officers and stopping Trident going ahead.
Voted in favour of wasting £1bn+ on an unnecessary tram network.
Let's just hope this seemingly 'inevitable candidate' falls flat on her face just like that other American liar that came up short.
Vote Mason!

Looks like you just got a crib sheet from the SNP on Margaret!
I'm not swallowing the bait to relay just how awful John Mason is here but you've read my blog, you've seen how much of narrow minded hardline nationalist he is.
Margaret is a very warm, likeable character who is just brilliant on the doors. The big advantage Labour has is a candidate that people like and want to engage with. It strikes me that the SNP have spent more time trying to keep John Mason out of the spotlight and off camera than they have on the doors actually talking to people.
TBH Jeff have to agree with Kez on that one. Crib sheet it may be but a little bit obvious the way you blogged it.
Pah, I wish I received crib sheets. I'm almost embarrassed to admit I don't really know what they are...
May I remind you I'm not a member of any party so, consequently, I am not party to any mailings or propoganda or whatever they send out.
I think when a politician's integrity goes there's not much left to sell. For me, Margaret Curran wouldn't have got my vote before this by-election even started given her abrasive personality but when she lied about living in Glasgow East all her life, a claim which she simply could not feasibly have got mixed up in her mind given she hasn't lived there for 20 years, she would have lost my vote all over again.
John Mason may be a nationalist hardliner but he is who he is. he's not trying to hide behind anything, he's not going to lie about his beliefs and he's not going to try to pull the wool over anyone's eyes.
I'd rather lose with my integrity still intact rather than win with it in tatters.
And I'd rather vote for someone I trusted rather than let a sneaky, scheming liar in the door.
"And I'd rather vote for someone I trusted rather than let a sneaky, scheming liar in the door."
Wow - and you thought i was too hard on John Mason?!
The reality is John Mason has spent the last 10 years of his political life opposing the very things that have made Glasgow East a better place to live. Yes - there are still problems but i challenge you to drive round Glasgow east and tell me it's been starved of investment by Labour?!
I almost believed the hype myself till i went through there and saw it for myself.
If get's elected to Westminster, he'll spend at least the next 2 years doing exactly the same in city 500 miles away which he classes as "foreign."
Aw Jeff I'm not denying there are integrety issues out there on bot Curran and Mason's parts. Just this entry wasn't up to your usual standards. Possible because it read like bullet attack points, crib sheet call it what you will.
I was commenting purely on the intergrity of your writing and blogging not the candidates per se. ;)
You see Kez, you've touched on the very essence of where Labour are going wrong. You speak of "investment" but the real benchmark is success. Record investment has gone into the NHS, it isn't necessarily a success.
I have not denied that there's been good investment in Glasgow East and once the media get around to actually speaking to the constituents you do see that they are happy with their area.
But you seem to suggest that Labour woud do more for Glasgow East than the SNP would.
Let's look at past form:
Labour - Abolition of 10p tax, massive hikes in fuel prices/duty, massive road tax increases for those with older cars, council tax increases of 60%, Glasgow is the sick man of Europe on Labour's watch.
SNP - Council tax freeze, scraps prescriptions charges, cuts small business rates, waiting lists down, standing ovation for Sturgeon on her health plans.
It should be a no-brainer.
And that's what I can think of off the top of my head without the added benefit of a crib sheet (which as a Labour footsoldier I'm sure you have plenty of)
And interestingly, I've had two (very rare) comments from you and not one of them denies my main charge that Curran is a proven liar.
"Nationalist Hardliner" - Think about it for a minute.
He's an SNP member, nay candidate, of course he wants Independence!
By the same token Margaret Curren is a British Unionist Hardliner since she believes completley in the union.
