The devil is in the detail of course, a technicality that Tories are often keen to overlook, but there seems to be a dangerous game being played of who can cut the most taxes despite borrowing going through the roof and repayment just around the generational corner.
Tories offering unspecific tax cuts, UK Labour cutting VAT, Lib Dems wanting Council Tax decreased and Scottish Labour still peddling a bizarre 'Stop the Cuts' campaign despite a fixed Scottish block grant and loose cash rarer and rarer these days.
We seem to be running out of responsible individuals who can see how much we need to have in the pot, how much needs to be spent and how much it would merely be nice to spend.

Yes, they've learned nothing from John Swinney's example of expensive election promises being jetissoned when in office, but Mr Swinney himself didn't learn from past examples, so what's new?
Are there any election promises you have particularly in mind Stuart? Keeping in mind that only those with any chance of obtaining a majority in the chamber need be mentioned.
Cancelling student debt for example is a non-starter as no other party is interested.
You're not seriously saying that financial constraints aren't a problem, instead it's just the parliamentary arithmetic?
You should be glad that you've got that stock excuse to fall back on, because there's no way cancelling student debt could have been affordable anyway, at least unless some other promises were dumped.
