Per The Herald:
Schools Minister Keith Brown was branded a “hooligan” yesterday after he heckled the Prime Minister on the election campaign.
The minister was also involved in a bizarre row with Scottish Labour officials after the party’s head of communications claimed he was punched in the back during a scuffle.
Judge for yourselves thanks to this video:
(Incident is 1:00 in and K Brown is wearing red)
Personally I think Mr Okasha needs to toughen up a bit, particularly if he's going to go around stamping on people's toes.

Well, well, well!
Looks to me like Okasha stepped in front of Keith Brown and then backs sharply right into him.
When KB pushed him back (as he is surely right to do because he's literally being shunted backwards) Okasha reacts violently.
He turns with genuine menace and it looks like he's just about to get ripped straight into Keith Brown.
Its quite possible that, had been another person than KB, Okasha's provocative action could have earned him him a smack on his chubby chops. But KB just stands calmly.
Okasha's sleazy lies and menace are typical of the the lowlife scum that Brown always surrounds himself with.
Excellent, Okasha will be hathing the fact that this has been caught on tape.
It seems getting his love handles tickled by ex-marines really get's him a bit overly excited.
That Labour tried to spin this and that the obnoxious Gordon Banks weighed into the issue is testamount to how Labour now treat the public.
As soon as I read that the incident involved Rami "sniper" Okasha (in the Glenrothes by-election he warned some hacks & photographers that they could be shot by Brown's bodyguards) I suspected that something was amiss with the story.
But what this does show is that, yet again, the Scottish press will unquestioningly print any old crap that Labour pass their way.
Okasha should have got a yellow card for "simulation". Who does he think he is--Kyle Lafferty or Nakamura?
Another Labour non-story.
Ha! That will cheer up a certain blogger who has been being chased for asking too many questions about Stephen Purcell!
I have say my concern is why, when teh rest of us were out campaigning was the local MSP hanging around a street corner shouting abuse? Also dont think it does him much credit raising his hands and then claiming he didnt' He should plede provocation not lie that it didnt happen
Hmmm- I do have to say it isnt Keith's best moment. I recall a similar incident in the Hamilton by election. Nice example for the kids in school I dont think! Let's stick to the argument rather than abuse eh?
It's a difficult one. But it was not a punch, only a shove. The suited guy walked back into the red shirted guy. Whether words had passed between them before hand, Brown should have just stepped back. the suited guy over-reacted, but Brown should have ignored the step back. A 50:50 situation, a bit of acrimony on both sides but nothing of a rammy like labour wanted to make of it.
OMG this guy is an MSP right?
Surely there not meant to raise theyre hands like this???
That is well out of order.
Nice example for the kids in school I dont think!
- I know what you mean.
It's a sickening sight watching a British Westminster war criminal with the blood of a million Iraqis on his hands, many of them childen, being allowed to expose himself to even more innocent unsuspecting bairns.
Another reason why I don't read Labour biased rags. As you can see from the footage the guy with the Japanese surname provoked the incident.

What blogger are we talking about? For the life of me I can't see why any blogger would have to fear the Scottish Labour run news papers??
Journalists are just as vulnerable as any Joe public and if they step out of line and print lies regarding ordinary members of the public then we have the legal authority to take action against them.
How unpleasant for Mr Brown. Being heckled over Iraq. This is the war where over a million people died. 90% of the deaths were unarmed civilians and 30% of those were children. As our troop cowered at Basra airport the local militias murdered thousands of opponents in Basra.
Anyone who objected to the war mysteriously died or were forced to resign treated as traitors by the press.
And the carnage continues in Afghanistan yet Scots will still vote labour despite nothing being done to improve their lot after 70 years of local Labour.
I'm surprised he didn't need to be hospitalised after that haymaker.
An apology from the suited Kung Fu with anger management problems is in order.

LOL, what a joker.
You have to hand it to these Labour students, like Yousuf, they seem wiling to simply say that they were against the war but that they continue to support Labour....
Unfortunately for the rest of us, these people have neither the spine nor consitution of the likes of Robin Cook, instead, in their pinstripe suits, D+G glasses and with a career ahead of patronage from their political masters, they are willing to be sychophants.
Keith Brown is right, Labour must be challeneged on this at every opportunity.
Keith Brown, a national champion.

Does anyone else get the impression that Okasha and his student hordes have been looking at this post?
Thanks christ this man wasn't re-lected to the NUS, where he failed to stand up against tution fee's because he was so busy redirecting NUS resoruces to fighting the SNP.
"Schools Minister Keith Brown was branded a “hooligan” yesterday after he heckled the Prime Minister on the election campaign."
Sorry, but this was a very stupid stunt by Keith Brown. He would have been better to catch some 'good humoured' airtime out of the fact that Brown turned up on his doorstep, instead of heckling and getting into pavement scrapes with Labourites.
We had another of these bad tempered scuffles between the Nats and Labour back in 2007. These testosterone fueled spats are not attractive, nor is post incident who did what rows either. This guy is supposed to be Minister for Schools and Skills for heavens sake!
Can I just recommend to the malignant hordes of SNP TV fanatics an excellent source of Scottish news and analysis -
Newsnet Scotland
Don't mention the 2 wars.
It's like Basil Fawlty claiming he only mentioned the war once but thought he got away with it - the British Labour Government only carried out the same crime as Hitler, twice, but think they got away with it.
What's the name again of that awfully nice enquiry going on in the English capital, about the causes of the Iraq War, which was awfully nice to Brown?
Handbags at the ready!
As far as I can see Keith Brown was acting as a local who suddenly saw Gordon Brown turning up. Well I know what I would do in those circumstances and it would very much involve a bit of heckling.
Is it just me that thinks all the men in suits thought they were in a movie, but didn't actually do that much to protect Brown from the imaginary line of fire they are supposed to be there to shield him from?
Observer says,

- Would you put yourself on the line for liars like British Labour cabinet ministers?
I wish that was funny, but it isn't really, as I'm sure you'll agree.
Imagine your son, daughter, friend, member of your community dying and killing for the lies of Blair, Straw and the British corporate news media?
And now we're all supposed to be feartit aboot the existence of Iranian nuclear WMD. So much so that this non-existent Iranian threat (much like non-existent Iraq WMD) is now used in Party Leader tv-radio debates to justify Trident and its replacement!
You couldn't make it up. Well you can if you're a Herald corporate journalist.

Surely the issue is that Keith Brown said he never touched the bloke, which we can now see is a complete lie? If Brown had been honest instead of lying there wouldn't be as much fuss- but you have to ask why he chose to deny this when first asked. Why did he lie? Think we have a right to ask. As someone on here put it- he shoudl have laughed it off- but he chose to lie instead.
Dearie me, you youngsters are too sensitive. In the good old bad old days this was called old-fashioned heckling and long may it continue. If you cannot handle heckling take up pressing wild flowers instead.
I do miss the old hustings that were a feature of election campaigns before TV killed them off to become soundbite platforms.
Anon 16.50..
If you watch the film carefully you will see Okasha backing into KB trying to knock him over. A natural reaction is to push back to try to get your balance. Most folk wouldn't see this as an assault on someone. In fact most folk would have forgotten about it. Interesting to see Okasha rapidly turning around to intimidate KB then realising that KB wasn't fazed by him. Like all bullies he retreated to find a weaker subject to bully.
If Gordon wants to meet the people then why does he always ignore people who don't agree with him ?
Wow, a complete non-event.
Is there an election on?
Marcia is spot on.
Read stories about election campaigning in the good old days before electronic mass communication.
The hustings were a cross between a bear-pit and free entertainment. Paid entertainment sometimes even, as local folks were tanked up on free booze and free nosh in order to get them out to campaign meetings in their local constituencies.
I can't remember where I read this but, sometime in the 1920s, a Liberal election candidate giving a speech to the locals in some Border hell-hole was, unusually, not being heckled. Eventually, even his own supporters got bored with having to listen to him alone whining on, that they started heckling and abusing him themselves, just to add a bit of normality and entertainment to the evenings proceedings.
Contrast that with the artificially anaesthetised comatosed audience in the recent 3-Leader debate on tv-radio.
Ha ha. Can you direct us to this "lie"? Without a source, people might get the completely unfounded impression that you're an anonymous plant making stuff up.
It's hard to "punch" someone with your hands open, as Mr. Brown's clearly were and it was a bit amusing to see Mr. Okasha back off--in rather a hurry.
Strictly a non-event. Seriously, some politicians need to make the acquaintance of the advice of the late US President Harry S. Truman, "If you can't stand the heat..."
Fitalass.
You support anybody against the SNP, don't you-typical unionist!
On the basis of that clip, I've got to say that, if I were on a jury, it would be Mr Okasha who was found guilty!
If I recall correctly, the Labour bloke claimed to have been punched. On the strength of this footage, Keith Brown has a watertight defamation claim against him.
At the very least he should be extracting a grovelling apology.
CC
what would you find him guilty of, Douglas?
